Surprise!

We made a quick trip to Manhattan on a Wednesday to pick up Merle so he could stay with us while his owners/parents went to Colorado!  We had lunch with Sara and Evan and then picked up the preschooler from daycare.

Before we left home that morning Josh had called and told us a cute story about how Jackson had watched a TV show the night before where they showed old fashioned lollipops.  Jackson was in awe of those lollipops and asked his parents if they thought he might ever get to have one some day. In his young mind it seemed like an unattainable dream.

Thanks to Josh's call we were able to stop at Cracker Barrel and help create a fun surprise for our favorite preschooler!

Not sure who had more fun; us or him!

Preschooler Shenanigans

This boy is such a joy!

He thought it was hilarious when I put the pool noodles into Poppa's boots!

Using his pink 'mingo' as a battleship to get into the perfect spot to shoot Daddy with the water gun!

More water gun fun!

Taking a break and hanging out with Mommy by the side of the pool!

Playing tow truck with Poppa!

PlayDoh fun with MeeMaw!

A whole lotta fun packed into one weekend!

June: Birthdays, Anniversaries, and Family Visits

June kicked off with Jackson's third birthday and Josh and Susan's seventh anniversary!  Josh and Susan hosted the party at their new house, the theme was PJ Masks!
One happy little preschooler!

We gave him a mini-black pickup truck that looks just like his Daddy's new truck!  He sure had fun learning to ride around his cul-de-sac!
(Sara's Instagram post)

Josh sent us this picture later that evening once they had parked their matching trucks in the garage for the night!

Oh the fun of a big dirt pile!

Helping Daddy water the new grass!

Throwback to their first anniversary in 2012!

Onda and the boys came back to visit Grandma.
Here we are visiting Lawrence Brewing Company the evening before Scott flew in.

Grandma Jo and her Colorado grandsons!

A couple of pleasant afternoons spent playing Chinese checkers!

Evan's surprise 30th birthday party!
Sara did a great job with planning, decorating, and food!
Everyone had a fun time!

A Boy and his Dog(s)

The kids came for Memorial Day weekend and Teresa and Charlie stopped on their way through and stayed Monday night!
This mama loves it when the house is full of family!

Nose-tail-nose-tail-nose-tail, tired dogs!

Some of these pictures are blurry but they are too cute not to include!
Merle gets some bling and Jackson gets an appreciative kiss!

'Am I pretty?'

Cooper, don't run off you're next!

Merle, he's not done with you yet!

Is there anything sweeter than a freshly bathed little one in a cute towel?!?!

Some lap time with Poppa before bed.

Random: pretty flowers picked from the yard!

Spring Time and the Living is Easy!

Random scenes that made me happy this Spring.

Filling and lining up all the sand toys keeps a little guy busy!
And apparently it makes the dog tired!

Time to decorate the dog with some painters tape.

Checking out a 'Paul the Possum' sighting. Where'd he go?

All business as they discuss Paul the Possum!

Fun at the playground with MeeMaw while Mom & Dad pack moving boxes!

Climbing, climbing!

Swings are fun!

A different view!

Rock and roll!

Hmmmm....what 'project' should I work on next!  Always busy!

He found his next project; a bucket, water, tools, sand toys.  Mix and enjoy!

Time to mow while Poppa uses his own push mower to mow the grass in the pool area!

This little man loves all of his family's dogs; Cooper, Griffy, Merle and Dexter!

And here he is pretending to be a puppy in a crate for sale at the pet store!
(Meemaw keeping him busy while Mommy, Daddy and Poppa pack for the move)

On Easter, listening to Mommy read him a book about a golden retriever who moves to a new house!  Happy to report that both the golden retriever in the book and my favorite preschooler made a smooth transition into their new home and daycare!

My breakfast buddy!  All moved into his new house!

'Find the item' on cereal boxes, so much fun!  'What next Meemaw?'

His new neighborhood has a resident turkey named Nigel.  Nigel left a feather on his porch!

Pizza party!

Goofing around at the pizza party!

Some outside time in his new yard!

Throwing rocks into the lake on an afternoon when Meemaw and Poppa picked him up early from his new daycare!  Thankfully Manhattan is not too far away!
