The Fruits of His Labor

Bobby has been very busy building a limestone walkway from the concrete driveway to the front porch! And I think it looks GREAT!

Turkey Lurkey

Look who is visiting the bird feeder now!

And at night a couple of possums are eating the seeds off the ground too!

Oven Wars

Since Bobby is retired and Sara is living at home while she student teaches and works on her Masters, Bobby gets lots of mileage out of jokes about his 'working girls'. Actually it's kind of sweet, he cleans the coffee pot for her each day so she doesn't have to mess with it since she leaves really early in the morning. And he always buys stuff for her lunches when he goes to the grocery store.

(I'll probably be in trouble for telling all of that on the blog!)

Tonight Sara needed to bake cookies to donate to a bake sale that her ESL students are hosting tomorrow to raise funds for a trip to Worlds of Fun and I needed the oven to cook Rattlesnake Bites for a birthday celebration at work.

Well you can just imagine all of the fun Bobby had saying he couldn't wait to watch his women fight over the oven. What a goofball!

Rattlesnake Bites

1 pound hot breakfast sausage browned

1 8-oz package of cream cheese

1 can chopped green chilis

2 tubes of crescent rolls

Once sausage is browned, add green chilis and cream cheese until melted.

Spoon mixture onto crescent roll triangle and roll up into a round shape.

Bake at 375 degrees until brown.

P.S. There was no fighting over the oven! "Teach" mixed up her dough and then went to do homework while I used the kitchen and oven. Now she's finishing up the baking and the homework! She works really hard!

Build It and They Will Come

Bobby's been building some of these......
...to attract some of these!
Well actually these are the mountain variety,
but we hope to attract some of their Kansas cousins!

Sunday at the Duck

Horseplay,
chicken fighting,
dog lifting,
frog dog,
&
a bobcat!
Chicken fighting; apparently something Lawrence school children learn in P.E. class and still enjoy as adults.

While we were sitting at the dinner table Josh looked out and saw a bobcat 20-yards from the back door. By the time we jumped up and made it to the backporch the cat was running towards the back of the shed, when Bobby meowed at him he stopped and looked back over his shoulder.
YIKES!
